Making Money

Literally, making money. I need to learn how to do this. It seems like a much better option than losing my money at the casino.

Broncos Choke

I don't know what's worse, being a Chiefs fan this season or a being Broncos fan. The Chiefs have only won two games all season. They have had a number of gut wrenching loses that have really worn this fan down. On the other hand the Broncos are #1 in the AFC West but have tried in every possible way to lose the division. I think if I had to pick, I'd take the Chiefs. There is a good chance the Broncos will lose Sunday night to the Chargers and kiss their division away. All I can hope is that 2009 is a better year.

Winter Break

Winter break, it's just around the corner and I am starting to get excited. It's tough being at work when there is an end in sight. It really gets my ADD going. If all goes as well, I will be taking a road trip with my step-dad to Colorado for a ski trip. If so, I'll get to visit my cousin who we like to call "E". I know, original.

For those of you that don't know, I am kick ass at snowboarding. My sick wakeboarding skills must translate. Remember this sick jump?

The Dissapointment

I was so damn excited to have a Hard Rock Kansas City. Now my hopes have been flushed down the drain. Here is a very uninformative article from the KC Star.

Just Plain Funny

Just click on this link. That is some funny shit.

A Little Slow

I know it's been kind of boring around T.I.C. lately and I would like to apologize. I have been busy at work and unable to generate an opinion on anything worth blogging. Please feel free to send some links to some blog worthy material.

Side Note: Does anyone want to buy some Big 12 Championship tickets? I have 8 for sale and you would get to sit next to me and slick...

When Hunting Goes Wrong

This is one wacky story about how important it is to get a clean shot off. I'm sure this hunter will think twice before he approaches his next "kill".

My First Kill

I shot this deer my final morning of hunting. After 20 plus hours of sitting and waiting, I dropped her about 6:15 Saturday morning. She might look a little small but I brought home over 25 lbs. of meat from this doe. The guilt of the kill is fading quick. I'm looking forward to getting a buck next time.

Royals Land Cereal

That's right baby! The Royals now have a decent outfielder in their newest acquisition. Coco Crisp. What a great name. I used to hate him but now that he is a Royal I love him.

Is It Summer Yet?

I miss you.

I'm Just Plain Excited

For this.

Chiefs Update

Man it feels good to read this.

Fox Sports NFL Rankings:

Sooner or later, Typer Thigpen will break through and get a big win or two. As well as he has played recently, the Chiefs offense is suddenly exciting to watch and scary to face, with WR Dwayne Bowe, TE Tony Gonzalez and now the return of RB Larry Johnson.

It is just a matter of time before Thigpen's teammates give him a little help and pull out a W for him. Watching the Chiefs play the last few weeks, I can't help but to think we are on the right track. And we now have the sexiest kicker in the league.

New Favorite Team

The Oklahoma City Thunder (currently 1-10) are officially my new favorite team in the NBA. I have actually never had a favorite NBA team. I tried my best to like the Houston Rockets, but I just can't seem to take a liking towards T-Mac and Yao. Maybe it's because they are always hurt and can't beat the stinkin Jazz.

This is my official start of liking the Thunder. The name kind of sucks but it could grow on me. I think it would be fun to take the five hour drive from KC to OKC to see them play a game this year. I have never been to an NBA game. Anyone want to take the ride?

Here is there schedule, I am down for the January 9th game against the Rockets. What do you think brothers, you want to take the drive up and meet me in OKC for a weekend? We could buy tickets right now.

Nice Kill, Uncle

The above pictured photo is of a deer killed yesterday, at the same farm I will be hunting later this week. The rumor is that there are two bucks bigger than this one still roaming the property.

Just Three Days

Oh, what a feeling. The short work week. Isn’t it great? I will be taking off Thursday and Friday this week to go on my very first deer hunting excursion. I have big plans of killing big bucks and eating big steaks afterwards. I can’t wait!

This is what I hope my deer looks like. I will mount that head in my apartment for sure.

Interesting Weekend

I hope eveyone had a nice weekend. Mine was certainly interesting.

For starters, I took a long walk with Slick, and we came across a very unusual tree.

About three miles later we came to the most outrageous condos we had ever seen.

After our long walk, we got home and turned on the weather channel. It seemed to be pretty stormy in Ohio this weekend.

Finally, I checked my email that night and saw a picture from my brother who had been to D.C. for the weekend. You'd think he could have found more productive things to do.

Man, what a crazy weekend.

Stolen But Great!

Thanks for this untitled.

Need a Ring?

If so, you are in luck. Head down to 135th and Metcalf, tonight or tomorrow, to Karats' Bridal Ring Show. It is a chance for you to meet designers, drink free wine and try on hundreds of different rings. Girls, this is a good chance for you to bring your man down and try to persuade him to buy you that ring you have always wanted.

New Chiefs Widget

Instead of going to ESPN.com to check the Chiefs score this weekend, you can come right to The Idea Comes and check it out right here. Enjoy. And I hope you like the new skin.

Congrats Crats

The "race" really turned out as a landslide win for Barrack Obama in terms of electoral votes. I will say, Barrack can give one hell of a speech, that's one thing he has going for him. Good luck America, I hope it all "changes" for the better.

Election Stickers

You know the election stickers you get after you cast your vote that say "I Voted"? (Picture of mine seen above) Well wouldn't it be cool if they had the stickers pre-sorted by who you voted for and each had the unique smell of that candidate. For instance, I would venture to say that John McCain wears something along the lines of Brut or Old Spice, something a little musty - where Barrack Obama probably wears something like Axe body spray. I just feel it would be a good way to rep your pick all day. What do you guys think?

Who's Going to Win?

Not that I want to reveal my political views to all my readers but I hope to God McCain kicks Obama's ass. Think about how good of a "game" that would be. It would be like #7 Texas Tech taking down the big bad #1 Texas.

I'm not going to get real deep into the political jargone here folks, but I will keep you updated as the polls begin to close. Here is something you can take with you as we move forward with the Presidential Tuesday.

Phillies Win II

I can't wait for a championship in Kansas City. Look how much fun they had in Phili last night. This guy, not so much fun.

Phillies Win

Last night the Phillies won their first World Series in 28 years. The last time the city had a championship is when the Sixers won in 1983. Congrats to the Phillies and the entire city of Philadelphia.

With a championship team comes "Fair Weather" fans. I personally have a friend that turned into a fair weather Phillies fan this year. His name is Ship-Dawg. Not only did Ship-Dawg start rooting for the team, he actually went out and purchased a Phillies T-shirt. That’s like going out and buying a Red Sox hat last year. It’s just a disgrace to fanhood and a slap in the face of the Royals. Way to go Ship!

On another note, I had a buddy that put down $500 on the Phillies to win the series back in April. The odds were set at 12 to 1. Needless to say, he is a happy camper this morning. Now for him to root for the Phillies is justifiable. That does not denote a fair weather fan.

Sight for Sore Eyes

Ah, yes, what a welcoming sight. I am filling up the tank today for the big trip to St. Louis this weekend. We are going to have a GI Joes/Army Hoes party in celebration of my buddy, Russ, getting out of the military. Should be a fun night.

Frosty Anyone?

This is a picutre of my car this morning after what Brian Busby calls a "Hard Freeze." I sometimes wonder about that guy. Anyways, point being, it is freaking cold in KCMO. I had to scrape my windows for the first time, and it's only Oct. 28. That's too damn early. Looks like a nice weekend though.

Wedding Plans

As most of you probably know, I am in the midst of planning a wedding. Well, let's be honest, Slick is doing most of the planning. For those of you that haven't done it, it's not much fun. We are on the search for a reception place that holds 260 people and it's just not as easy as it sounds. You think it would be easy to spend all your parents money, but it's not. I think we are going to resrot to this:

Free Taco Anyone?

Taco Bell ran a promotion during the World Series for the second year in a row. The promotion states that everyone gets a free taco if a player from either team steals a base during the World Series game. Guess what, someone stole a base last night. Here's an article that gets a little meatier.

And you know there is never as much meat as seen in photo above.

Drama & Turtle

At the Missouri/Texas tailgate this past weekend there was a wide mix of people. Rich and poor, young and old, and a few famous people. I was lucky enough to tent up next to a group celebrities that had differing fan views. Yup that’s right this is a picture of Johnny Drama and Turtle from HBO’s hit series Entourage. I’m not gonna lie, those guys can booze it up in real life.

And on another note, I took a picture in front of the Game Day bus.

The "Mack" Brown

He may be an Obama fan but he is certainly a good coach. And Joe Posnanski agress with me. Talk about making a statement in front of a stadium packed full of 98,000 fans. The Longhorns certainly did that this past weekend in Austin. I think Mizzou's best bowl chance at this point is the Alamo Bowl.

Hunting Classes

That's right, I'm taking my Hunter Education classes this week to become a certified hunter. You know why I'm doing it? So one day I can kill a bear and look as happy as that guy above. Also because my fun uncle, we all have one, built a ridiculous duck blind up at the farm that I will be enjoying with him this winter. But really Hunter's Ed, 3 classes each 3.5 hours. Seems a little much - I think you only need to know three things before you hunt.

1. Don't ever point your gun at a human

2. Don't ever point your gun at a human

3. Avoid excessive drinking while hunting

Party on Wayne, Party on Barth! hahaha.

Texan heads for 100th game

On the front page of the Chron this morning, it says:

Chester Pitts has been there for the good times and the bad, and he hits the century mark on Sunday.

Maybe I'm wrong but has there been any good times for the Houston Texans franchise? They haven't had a winning season, their "franchise" quaterback is now a third string back-up and they have zero wins this season. I think the next worse thing to being a Kansas City Chiefs fan this season is being a Houston Texans fan.

Sorry brothers.
